International Mid-term Conference
Transnational tools and solutions to support adaptations strategies and plans for minimising air pollution impact in Central Europe cities and region. The TAB project approach

The TAB mid-term conference will be held in Turin on 23rd January 2013 in the highly suggestive venue of the Regional Museum of Natural Sciences.

The conference will focus on technical tools and actions that can be used to provide effective solutions and facing challenges posed by air pollution in Central Europe cities and regions involved in the project.

Pollution is of course a complex phenomena impacting on people health and quality of life at local level but TAB considers that an effective mitigation at the local/regional levels requires integrated actions to be mediated on a transnational scale. Sharing technical experiences and good practises is then a crucial point for achieving the project goals and implementing effective mitigation measures in the framework of adaptations actions plans outlined with the involments of local stakeholders.

The approach proposed by the TAB project will be presented together with an overview of technical experiences on air pollution data collection, monitoring and processing. Different aspects of the air pollution phenomena will be analized including the effects of climate change and severe weather events related to it.
Besides the technical aspects in the conference will be illustrated some experiences of local and regional administrations that are setting up plans and adaptation measures for improving air quality, and, through that ultimately the attractiveness and life quality of their own cities and regions.

The Conference then intends to address not only to the scientific community but also to technicians and local administrations involved in territory planning and management.
